Goodbye 2007

Dear 2007,
I can’t begrudge you.  You brought so much happiness into my life.  You gave me wonderful marriage to THE MAN of my dreams.  You gave me travel, adventure and love.  You gave me beautiful, pink-clouded sunrises over the mountains.  You have given me everything I hoped for and dared not hope for for so long.  2007, thank you for those things.

But, see, here’s the thing.  You ran me ragged.  I just can’t do it anymore.  I can’t move across the country one more damn time.  I can’t get up at 5am and run, run, run until I collapse in bed.  I can’t fly back and forth and back and forth.  I can’t have so much uncertainty in my future.  I can’t be at the mercy of forces outside my control.

So now I am ready to give you a kiss and say goodbye.  I have the pictures, the memories and the twelve new wrinkles.  I have my beautiful family and the ever-abiding love of my new husband.  I will take these things with me and open my arms to 2008.  Hopefully the most BORING YEAR EVER!!!
