We Are Mac

January 11th, 2009

My husband and I were walking around Target when he started wondering aloud if his wireless mac keyboard and mouse would work with his work laptop which is a PC.  He got them with his macbook which is affectionately known as the “weekend machine”.  The macbook is so sweet and shiny.  It’s intuitive, always knowing what you need and why you need it.  It is so understanding, knowing you must access archaic operating systems for your non-weekend life and even providing them for you.  Mac is the definition of cool.  That is why we have a white apple proudly displayed on the back window of our car.

We know that the chunky PC laptop definitely could handle the wireless keybord and mouse.  The bluetooth capability is there.  But ultimately the conclusion is that PC would never allow something so cutesy and self-assured as a mac to interface with it’s equipment.  Why would PC lower itself in such a way?  If mac wants to be so different, PC is certainly not going to promote it by allowing this white wirelessness to penetrate.

I started to think about the position we are in with some of the evildoers in our life and realized something.  No, not just simply realized but an actual epiphany occured.  Right there in Target’s DVD storage aisle.  We are so MAC.
