My house is a mess, the laundry is piled up, my kindergartner got suspended from school for biting and I am SO tired. Being part of the opening of a new hospital is a rare experience but being part of THIS is once in a life time. I hope we can make it everything it’s trying to be. I do wonder about how we can sustain this vision in an economy such as this and especially about the ethics of all the physical beauty and luxury when there are millions and millions of people without health coverage. But if we can do this, if we can demonstrate that a health care environment focusing on wellness can ultimately reduce dollars spent then we really can, as our mission statement says, “Take Health and Healing Beyond the Boundaries of Imagination”.

I’ll give any fabulous woman bloggers a personal tour any time they want. We did just have a community open house yesterday with an expected turn out of 10,000 people. The family open house was last weekend and it was a blast. It opened my kids’ eyes about what their mom really does and made one of them say, “This makes me want to be a doctor!”. My video game obsessed son actually had several conversations with me about health care. If that can happen from one tour, we can definitely redefine health care in America!
Wow! You are so lucky to be a part of this! With Obama’s emphasis on preventative medicine (who knew!) and the changes we’ll be seeing in our insurance systems, whatever those are…you’re going to be golden! If they’re giving out free tours to random, non-important bloggers, please let me know. Sounds like the homeschooling field trip of a lifetime! LOVE THAT MALL!!!
