I just have to tell you this. There was a woman I met through wildflowers (ex-wives of gays) some 5 years ago. She preached to me ENDLESSLY about the atonement and if her ex would just believe. She talked about rules and how he had broken the rules. We had a woman contact wildflowers last week whose husband was caught at USU and it was a very public outing. They have been married 28 years. So--usually we hear from everyone when someone new arrives to the group. This girl--she is "falling away" from the church. This STAUNCH believer. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I asked her what was going on and she e-mailed me personally and she stated all the things most exmos state--the church uses fear to keep you in line, that all things gay are shunned by the LDS church, she was furious about their participation in Prop8--and she is considering giving up her membership. One of the biggest things is she FELL IN LOVE and she has experienced what we all deserve to experience (though she hasn't had sex with him yet--but close)--that bond that you can only have with a person who are attracted to--body and soul. Then we ex-wives of gays GET IT. It is usually THEN that we completely get it--and you really can't tell anyone until they've been there. Anyway--I never believed this woman would leave the LDS church or change her views--the last person on earth I expected that to happen to. . . . and it happened. Maybe I'll forward you her e-mail.

I really enjoyed this chapter. I think you shared this story with me before, but not all the details.

Amazing--as we look back--the journeys we have taken. It, for sure, hasn't been easy, but life-giving.

I had a girl at the office talk to me about gay marriage the other night--and it amazes me how far I've come from the mindset I had 26 years ago on March 22nd when he told me he is gay. It has set me free--but with still battles to fight.

I have so much enjoyed reading this. I wish you'd go on and on and on . . . .
